Refund & Cancellation Policy
Due to the unique & sequential nature of scuba education, limited class sizes & weather considerations, please review our refund policy below before signing up.
ELEARNING PROGRAMS
Once an eLearning program lesson has been started and the online access code has been used it is non-refundable. The e-learning portion is generally 25% of the entire fee.
IN PERSON TRAINING (classroom or in water)
There are no class tuition fee refunds or returns once the scheduled class has begun. Pool and open water dive lessons may be refunded as long as the student cancels the class before 7 days of the class start date. Any physical class academic materials must be returned before a refund can be issued. In order to return the student kit it must be in new condition (not been written in). Any other equipment borrowed such as tanks and regulators must also be returned before a refund can be given. Shipping fees incurred by Raleigh Scuba Diving are non refundable.
IN-WATER SESSION FEES
If a student does 100% of an entire course with Raleigh Scuba Diving and does all the training during regularly or agreed to scheduled class/pool/open water dive times, the student shall only pay the listed fees. No additional fees will be assessed.
For courses involving confined & open water training, if a student begins their in-water training (pool) and does not finish their first "dive", a 50% refund may be issued. After a student has completed their first "pool day" (first dive of the course), no refunds are provided.
For courses involving only open water training, no refunds are provided once we are within 7 days of the open water session however transfers are generally allowed.
ABSENCES AND MAKEUP FEES
A schedule is agreed upon between student and school before any class begins. Raleigh Scuba Diving and its instructors are obligated to meeting this schedule. However, if a student is absent from a class session, pool dive or open water dive for whatever reason, Raleigh Scuba Diving will not be responsible for any makeup fees that may be incurred. Diving classes are sequential. You can’t go to the open water portion without first completing the mandatory pool sessions. Raleigh Scuba Diving or its Instructors cannot guarantee a specific rescheduled time (classes are first come, first serve). Some courses are seasonal while others run once a year. Should illness or dive readiness be an issue, please contact us to discuss options as we do permit rescheduling for those reasons (within reasonable expectations)
If a student requires a make-up pool or open water session due to a no show or cancellation within 7 days of the scheduled time that is not illness related, is coming from another dive operation to complete their training, or simply needs additional time in the water, the fees are as follows (when joining into existing classes)
- Instructor Fee: $50.00/hr (2 hour minimum) and $40.00 for each additional hour.
- Pool Rental Fee: $30.00/hr (2 hour minimum) and $25.00 for each additional hour, per person.
If a private instruction session is requested by the client, the fees are as follows:
- Instructor Fee: $75.00/hr (2 hour minimum) and $500.00 for each additional hour. For additional students, the fee is $25.00 per student per hour (2 hour minimum).
- Pool Rental Fee: $30.00/hr (2 hour minimum) and $25.00 for each additional hour, per person.

GUEST DIVERS
We appreciate it when a guest offers to assist or provide moral support to a student during the Open Water or specialty courses. However, guest divers are not allowed to participate or assist in any part of the Open Water Diver Certification Course. Furthermore, it is HIGHLY recommended certified divers do NOT dive with students during any other training dives as they are not certified or insured to teach Scuba classes. By "assisting" (or even being present) they place themselves and the instructor in an unfavorable litigious position. Raleigh Scuba Diving AND its instructors reserve the right to refuse service to anyone.
